Separation Of Powers: Razing Capitol

I can’t say that I’m surprised dear reader, for expressing anger with all capitals transformed into storming Capitols due to a lack of capital. We lack a separation of powers — it becomes consolidated and centralized. To paraphrase one of the most beloved Presidents of the United States, Dubya, the Constitution seems to be nothing more than a piece of paper. The games we play have raised the stakes as we seek to escape ghosts with scapegoats while corporations bankroll both sides of the aisle. The media whorrors don’t supply critical information to the citizenry and instead, seek to divide the population along partisan lines because ratings line the pockets of network executives. Like-minded individuals find themselves unable to network on social networks because seemingly unpopular opinions damage the net worth. Dear reader, can one see how the net works? This seems to be how morality becomes relative, for we lack a consensus of fundamental principles. The propensity for violence increases and we don’t know who to trust.

Church And State

To prevent civilization from devolving into a theocracy, the tenets of religion and the rule of law must be treated as gasoline around an open flame. However, individuals tend to create their own religions within the dogmas of self-righteousness. We’ve stopped burning alleged witches at the stake, but witch trials have continued. Chattel slavery no longer exist, yet we remain confined in digital pens according to ideology and the prison gangs behind these bars are more ruthless and contentious than the Crips and Bloods. The myths of boogeymen and monsters have all but vanished, however predators hide behind cloaks with daggers and fear lurks behind every corner.

The separation of powers slowly degenerates in front of our collective eyes, but we’re blind from propaganda proliferating the airwaves. Our better angels fly from inner demons that teach us lessons about ourselves while courage falls to the wayside. Our angels fall from grace, compromising virtue just to be acknowledged. The idea was to prevent religious zealots from obtaining power to create their vision of heaven on Earth, regardless of the means so long as they justify the ends. Indeed, the Abrahamic religious power dwindles in the psyche of the average American, but alas, religions have now become secular.

The separation of powers stands as an ancient artifact, eroding away due to the constant storms of change and the slow creep of authoritarianism. Does the separation of church and state become irrelevant if the State becomes worshipped as a God? Why not? The State can create money from thin air… not a feat that Yahweh or Allah could accomplish from everything this poor fool has read. The State claims the power to take life regardless of its inability to create it. Fundamentalism in any fashion seems to create environments of strict conformity. Ironically, we need consensus on fundamental principles without violating the rights of individuals to strive towards a more peaceful civilization — quite the quandary.

Warship Of The State

Who says family is all one needs? We cannot permit these separations of powers within established institutions. How would the State control society when a father’s authority supersedes that of the State? If the mother provides, it seems the State becomes incapable of making its citizens dependent on it. So the State must become the mother and the father. A benevolent surrogate that takes the place of the biological parents when they are forced out of the home due to a lack of capital. Raise the cost of living and lower the taxes on capital gains while bureaucrats litter the landscape with red tape making it difficult for even the shrewdest of entrepreneurs to launch a successful business.

The State hates competition. Anything that remotely threatens its grasp on power must be demonized, marginalized and if all else fails, destroyed. The State cannot afford to lose its control over the population even though the population empowers these institutions without informed consent. Coerce the citizens to fight for falsehoods disguised as noble causes; secretly drafted clauses inside of legislation that forces the population to fight for freedom — or its older cousin slavery… potato patato.

The separation of powers has become nothing more than a distant memory, although its corpse walks through public squares as a noble but toothless zombie. Political parties have been reduced to two to give the illusion of choice that persuades one to speak with a delusional voice. This illusion implants cognitive dissonance into the societal landscape as a permanent fixture.

Meanwhile, civil discourse struggles, confined within strict parameters and any who should travel outside the bounds becomes banished to the Badlands. The power of the State remains consolidated with an unlimited supply of financial resources. These abstract resources exceed our limited natural resources. Best to call Musk for one of those one-ways to the Red Planet… that is if the State allows it.

Separation of powers… please, for if one political party grasps power in the House, the Senate, the Executive, and the Court, what power remains separated when that power is absolute? Forgive me dear reader, this is if one assumes that these political parties don’t work in tandem with one another — creating a mirage of conflict while destroying civility and trust within the citizenry. Sorry dear reader, I’ve been wearing my tin foil lately, attempting to block out the negativity and confusion, but I think most of us feel disillusioned.

And yet, these connections become more pernicious when one follows the money. Though the Capitol wasn’t razed, capital was raised by the billions over the silent summer by conglomerates while small businesses were snuffed out. Business as usual I suppose, although we’ve never witnessed a move so swift. Interestingly, censorship doesn’t seem censored, for we’ve become desensitized and immobilized from a senseless society — at least that’s what the consensus states.

Cash Rules Everything Around Me

Wu-Tang, it seems, is definitely for the children. Many believe that Big Business becomes a behemoth by benefiting from bellicose buffoonery — and these criticisms appear correct. On the other side of this perceived division, the daggers are directed towards government subsidies to corporate conglomerates — this appears correct as well. Forgive this fool dear reader, but it seems that two sides that disagree can find common ground on important issues not brought up by the media whorrors. Curious indeed…

Perhaps the most egregious affront to the idea of separation of powers is one that the Founding Fathers overlooked — that damn slavery doesn’t seem to want to leave the spirit of humanity. While capitalism has been denigrated with attempts to replace it with a system that has repeatedly — horrifically — failed, legitimate criticisms of capitalism fall by the wayside. Opponents would rather drown the baby in the bathwater, discard the baby and drink the bathwater before smashing the tub into smithereens.

We again fail to acknowledge the separation of powers, for when capital rushes into the Capitol from sources other than the taxpayer, corruption swells the ranks while profits swell the banks. Human nature seems to dictate to individuals to follow the bottom line to get to the top of the class. These powers work towards similar, sinister ends in a rigged game. No choice but to bear and grin it, though the second limits are surpassed, tempers flare and people begin to battle against the faux pas.

Capitalism only seems evil when it sleeps with the strange bedfellow of authority. The authority appears infatuated with the unlimited fruits of corruption. Meanwhile, big business banks on technology to keep the masses distracted. We become incapable of reacting, impaired by chemical cocktails, too intoxicated to question what we’re fighting for… or even who for that matter. Separation of powers? We can’t seem to separate the capital from Capitols… HELL, we CaN’t DiScErn CaPitaL leTTerS or conned-text any LONGER!

Thou shall not bite the hand that feeds one, though this philosophy breeds greed, resentment, and jealousy. I suppose that six figures for legislators makes it difficult to survive in the American landscape, especially when one owes favors for campaign donations. Greasy palms produce slimy laws. All that ends up in the pockets of the serfs seems to be lint and broken promises. Our crumbs of expression don’t seem permitted if those expressions shake the sandy foundation of the societal structure. Homes require mandated inspection from low bid contractors; however, we reserve Federal audits and omit accountability in the halls of Congress. Passive acceptance of a system designed to grind souls into commodities seems to be our reality.

We won’t separate the powers that be. We instead lean on discount philosophers that lead us astray, beating away at a cracked foundation rather than building and improving. We keep hitting the same Marx. If politicians were forced to uphold their oaths we wouldn’t be in this position, pulverized by power. Human beings seem easily tempted, so why not eliminate as many temptations as possible? Separate the power of money from the power of politics. This also disincentivizes Big Business from investing in politicians.

Many cry about the ills of socialism while others extoll it. Apologies dear reader, but we already live in a socialist state, seemingly the worst kind. We allow private enterprises to invest in and control public institutions. Any losses incurred are paid for by the public while profits are privatized with kickbacks to corrupt politicians that inhibit competition in the marketplace. Granted, the tactics practiced don’t appear ironfisted, instead these predators spin their victims in red tape until they succumb to fatigue. Then we become dependent upon the web we were attempting to escape.

We have candy-coated Communism that chastises capitalism as the culprit for these crooked conditions. The power has been consolidated, not separated and broken into a billion pieces to be divvied up amongst the individuals of the Earth. We won’t evolve to the next level, instead always looking for charlatans to lead us while false prophets only concern themselves with profit. On the other hand, what can one expect when generations have been taught that power lies in the collective instead of the individual? We remain willfully ignorant of the fact that collectives must have individuals to guide them… Will we ever learn?

When Power Corrupts…

When power corrupts, it corrupts absolutely. I suppose this wayward writer must find a silver lining in the bottom of the lavatory. When power corrupts it drives the average individual to a breaking point. It appears that one can only choose surrender — surrender to the power of oppressors and lose one’s soul or surrender one’s fear and truly become free in the face of death.

We operate in a false duality, for if individuals collectively omit fear, we collectively become free as individuals. Humanity appears plagued with contradictions and paradoxes that we seem able to navigate, making us unique in the natural world. And in the cruelest paradox of all, we remain blind to this reality despite constant reminders from history. But something seems different now dear reader.

The world has never been so connected and intertwined. Cultures are no longer separated by borders and oceans. Our capabilities in communication reach the most remote corners of the Earth instantly. Information can no longer be concealed from the plebs, the serfs, the peasants, the slaves — the common folk. However, powerful companies are attempting to censor ideas that threaten the power structure. But dear reader, it is too late.

We were allowed a taste from the tree of knowledge and now our thirst is insatiable. People will not give up this gift without a fight. Even if we don’t know how to grasp this freedom, we recognize it in a way that has never been conceivable. When power corrupts, it corrupts absolutely and ultimately commits suicide. When this beast finally falls and decays, the soil will be fertile with power, spread across the landscape. We must till the soil carefully and be sure to keep the recycled power separated for the benefit of all. Separate the powers!
